Most recently, I’ve been loving myself some romance novels that are super easy to read and don’t require me to think. But every once in a while I dive deep into a business book that changes my life and the way I run my web design business.

If you’re looking for your next non-romance novel to read or are just anxious to learn as much as you can about running a business, below is a list of my top business books that I highly recommend you read!

4 Must Read Business Books

Profit First by mike michalowicz

Profit First is the go to book if you don’t understand accounting one bit. I took accounting 3 times – once in high school and twice in college and even after having taken it three times I knew nothing whatsoever about finances and accounting.

Then I read Profit First and it literally changed the way I think about and organize my money (both in my business and life). Mike Michaelowicz method of accounting for humans is something you have to read if you want to run a profitable business!

What this book helped me achieve: Spending less money on things (people, tools, programs, etc.) that I thought I needed in my business but were actually guzzling some of my profits.

The 4 Hour Workweek by Tim Ferriss

Some of the 4 Hour Workweek is unattainable to the average human being but it doesn’t mean it isn’t completely inspiring. In this business book, Tim Ferriss talks about the lifestyle he’s created by working minimal hours each week.

He even teaches you the methods he uses in his busines to allow himself to run with the bulls in Spain and basically work from wherever, whenever he wants.

What this book helped me achieve: Working less and enjoying life more. I learned how to prioritize things that would make business easier so I could work from wherever my little travel trailer is currently parked and whenever I want to.

Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert

Big Magic is an awesome book for anyone who is wanting to live a more creative life. Elizabeth Gilbert teaches you how to uncover your creativity and utilize in your daily life. She also talks about overcoming fears around using your creativity and sharing it with the world.

What this book helped me achieve: Being more creative without feeling awkward about sharing it with the world.

You Are a Badass by Jen Sincero

This is hands down one of my favorite books! I have pulled so many life quotes from here and definitely plan to re-read it again and again and again. Jen Sincero is seriously your biggets cheerleader and the best motivation you will need to live life and run your business on your terms.

What this book helped me achieve: Remember my worth and increased my confidence as a business owner (and in life in general).

Recap

Don’t just take it from me, actually read these books and find out for yourself. These are some of the most influential books I’ve read so far while being a business owner for the past 2 years.

If you do decide to read one, leave me a comment and let me know how you like it and what it changed about the way you do business!

Or if you have another book you think I should read, let me know that, too!
